One accountable vendor for your whole compliance stack
Most fingerprinting shops are built for one person getting their own prints done. Fingerscan Digital is built for the HR director, compliance officer, volunteer coordinator, or credentialing manager who has a roster and a deadline. You set up an organization account once, hand us a roster, and we coordinate scheduling, submission, and billing.
We work daily with the rules your team answers to — the Medical Board of California, Community Care Licensing, school districts, FINRA, and AB 506 — so each submission is built right the first time and a rejected print doesn’t push back a start date.
Need cards for an out-of-state submission? We roll FD-258 ink cards and verify Form I-9 in the same visit, so a distributed roster doesn’t become four separate errands.
Who we serve
HR teams running new-hire cohorts, healthcare and senior-care credentialing, childcare and schools, youth nonprofits and churches (AB 506), staffing agencies, law firms, and out-of-state employers hiring California workers.
What we deliver
Live Scan, Channeler-network FBI checks, FD-258 ink cards, mobile group service, and Form I-9 verification — coordinated under one organization account with net-30 billing.
What your team can run through one account
We compete on getting it right and on time
Cohorts as small as five
Many providers want 15–20+ applicants or an enterprise contract. We dispatch onsite for groups as small as five, with no long-term commitment.
Rush & emergency dispatch
Facing a deadline? We accept last-minute and emergency onsite requests across Northern California when other providers ask for two weeks’ notice.
Billing your people never touch
Net-30 invoicing and ORI/billing setup mean staff and volunteers never pay at the counter and never file reimbursements.
One vendor, full stack
Live Scan, FD-258 ink cards, Channeler-network FBI, and Form I-9 verification under one organization account.
Statute-level accuracy
We work daily with AB 506 (§18975), Community Care Licensing (§1522 / §1596.871), and board licensing rules — so your file is built right the first time.
Bilingual applicant intake
English service standard, native Vietnamese spoken by our founder, and Spanish supported by an on-staff partner — useful for diverse workforces and congregations.
Which background check your organization needs
Healthcare & licensing
The Medical Board of California and allied boards require fingerprint Live Scan for new licensing and renewal. We run Live Scan onsite for clinical hires so a credentialing date doesn’t slip.
Senior care, adult day care & caregivers
Staff serving seniors, adult day programs, and in-home caregivers clear a Community Care Licensing check (Health & Safety Code §1522) by fingerprint — processed for your whole team.
Childcare & schools
Childcare providers and staff are screened under Community Care Licensing / TrustLine (§1596.871); school staff under the Education Code. We schedule around start dates.
Nonprofits, churches & youth orgs (AB 506)
AB 506 mandates fingerprint Live Scan for administrators, employees, and regular volunteers of youth-serving organizations — including churches running youth programs. One onsite visit clears the roster.
Staffing, finance & law firms
High-volume placements, FINRA-regulated roles, and law-office staff — recurring screening on a standing account that keeps placements on schedule.
Travel nurses & out-of-state employers
A California nurse licensing in another state needs FD-258 ink cards (electronic Live Scan is California-only). We roll and mail them, plus Form I-9 for out-of-state hires.
From first call to cleared roster in three steps
Open an account
Tell us your organization and applicant volume. We exchange a W-9 and a short services agreement and configure your ORI and net-30 billing — usually the same week.
Send your team
Walk applicants into our San Jose office, or book our mobile unit to process the whole roster onsite anywhere in Northern California.
We submit & bill
Prints transmit to the DOJ and FBI the same day; results route to the requesting agency. You get one itemized net-30 invoice and a completion record for your files.
Set up an organization account for ongoing fingerprinting
Organizations onboarding people every month — staffing agencies, healthcare systems, school districts, and growing nonprofits — run a standing account instead of requesting a fresh quote each time. Setup takes minutes and is free.
- Net-30 invoicing with one consolidated statement per cohort.
- Centralized ORI / billing so applicants never pay at the counter.
- Roster intake by CSV or secure upload; completion tracking returned for your records.
- Signed services agreement and W-9 on file; BAA available where protected health information is involved.
- Walk-in at our San Jose office or mobile coverage across Northern California.

How do we set up employer Live Scan with one monthly invoice?
Tell us your organization and applicant volume. We exchange a W-9 and a short services agreement and configure your ORI and net-30 billing, usually the same week. Applicants are processed under the organization account, so staff and volunteers never pay at the counter and there are no reimbursements to chase.
Does a name-based background check satisfy AB 506, or do we need Live Scan?
AB 506, codified at Business and Professions Code §18975, requires a fingerprint-based Live Scan check under Penal Code §11105.3 for administrators, employees, and regular volunteers of youth-serving organizations. A name-only or database check does not meet the standard, and a Live Scan is not transferable between organizations.
Can someone come onsite and fingerprint our whole team or roster?
Yes. We dispatch certified rollers with DOJ-approved equipment to your office, school, clinic, or church across Northern California — for cohorts from as few as five people up to several hundred. Rush and emergency dispatch is available when a deadline is tight.
What background check does California require for healthcare, childcare, or senior-care hires?
Most are fingerprint Live Scan. The Medical Board of California requires fingerprint Live Scan for licensing and renewal; childcare, senior care, adult day care, and caregiver roles clear a Community Care Licensing check (Health & Safety Code §1522 and §1596.871). We confirm the exact requirement for your role before the visit.
How fast can an FBI background check come back for a new hire?
Channeler-network FBI results return in as little as 1–4 hours, and DOJ prints submit the same day. Turnaround can vary with fingerprint quality or record complexity, but most employer submissions clear quickly enough to keep a Monday start date on track.
Where can employers get Live Scan fingerprinting in San Jose and Santa Clara County?
Fingerscan Digital Inc is at 434 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose and serves employers throughout Santa Clara County and Northern California. Walk applicants into our office, or book our mobile unit for onsite group processing; we also mail FD-258 cards statewide and nationwide.
What’s the difference between Live Scan and FD-258 ink cards?
Live Scan captures prints electronically and transmits them to the California DOJ and FBI — the standard for in-state employment and licensing. FD-258 ink cards are physical cards for out-of-state, federal, and international submissions that don’t accept electronic Live Scan, including for California nurses licensing in another state. We provide both, often in the same visit.
