Why Fremont is different

Shift work does not fit a nine-to-five appointment window

Fremont employs at scale and around the clock — manufacturing floors, distribution and logistics, contract assembly, home health agencies, and staffing firms placing dozens of people a month. Those workforces do not clear one at a time.

Sending a swing-shift assembler or a home health aide to find an appointment during business hours means losing the shift, and often losing the hire. We schedule the session around your shift change instead, and print the whole group before they clock on.

Fremont also sits on the county line. Staff who live in Fremont, Newark, or Union City often work in Santa Clara County and answer to Santa Clara County ORIs. We handle both sides of that line daily.

A submission under the wrong ORI

A print sent under the wrong Originating Agency Identifier or applicant type is rejected. That means a re-roll, a second set of fees, and a start date that slips by days.

Penal Code §11105

A caregiver starting before clearance

Community Care Licensing requires a criminal record clearance or exemption on file before an employee has client contact. Starting someone early exposes the agency to citation.

Health & Safety Code §1522

A guard posted before BSIS clears

Security officers and patrol operators must be submitted on the correct BSIS form before they can be posted to a site. A missed submission stalls the whole contract.

Business & Professions Code §7583

No audit trail for the file

When each person books separately, nothing ties the group together. We return a completion record with an ATI number per applicant for your compliance file.

Why choose us

Why Fremont employers pick Fingerscan Digital over a walk-in chain

Most fingerprinting locations are built for one person getting their own prints done. We are built for the HR director, plant manager, or compliance officer who has a whole shift to clear and a start date attached to it.

On onsite work for 40 or more applicants we do not collect a travel fee. Fremont is a twenty-mile run up I‑880 from our San Jose office, and once your group reaches 40 applicants — a hiring wave, an onboarding class, or a full shift of new staff — that drive costs you nothing — you pay the per-applicant rate and the state and federal fees, and nothing else.

Pricing

How onsite pricing works in Fremont

We do not publish a fixed mobile rate, because the honest number depends on your group. A quote has two parts: the per-applicant rate, which drops as the group grows, and the state and federal fees set by the DOJ and FBI, which are identical at every authorized provider in California.

The travel fee is the part most providers charge and we do not. East Bay employers are used to paying a premium for anyone willing to drive out. On onsite visits of 40 or more applicants we waive it completely. Below 40 applicants a modest travel component may apply, and it is always quoted up front — never added afterwards.

Recurring clients run a standing account and skip the re-quote each time. Applicants never pay at the counter; every fee is invoiced to your organization on net-30 terms.

Fremont questions

Mobile Live Scan in Fremont — frequently asked

Do you charge extra to come out to Fremont from San Jose?

Not on groups of 40 or more. Fremont is about twenty miles up I‑880 from our San Jose office, and at 40 applicants or more — a hiring wave, an onboarding class, or a full shift — we waive the travel fee entirely — you pay the per-applicant rate plus the state and federal fees and nothing more. Below 40 applicants a modest travel component may apply, and it is always shown on the quote before you book.

Can you come during a shift change or on a weekend?

Yes. Fremont runs on shift work, and clearing people at 6 a.m. before a line starts, or between swing and graveyard, is normal for us. Weekend and early-morning sessions are available by arrangement — tell us your shift pattern when you request the quote.

Do you come to our Fremont site, or do employees come to you?

We come to you. Fingerscan Digital is a mobile fingerprinting service for businesses, not a walk-in office. A certified fingerprint technician brings DOJ-certified equipment to your Fremont location. Employees are printed at our San Jose office only when their employer holds a signed services agreement with us and sends staff in under that account.

Our staff live in Alameda County but our ORI is a Santa Clara County agency. Is that a problem?

No. Where a person lives does not determine the submission — the requesting agency and its ORI do. We work both sides of that county line daily and configure the ORI, applicant type, and Mail Code before the visit so the result routes correctly the first time.

What is the minimum group size for an onsite visit in Fremont?

Five. Many providers require ten, fifteen, or twenty-five before they will travel to the East Bay, which leaves smaller teams sending people out one at a time.

Which parts of Fremont and the surrounding area do you cover?

All Fremont districts — Warm Springs, Irvington, Centerville, Niles, Mission San Jose, and Ardenwood — plus neighbouring Newark, Union City, and Hayward. If your site has parking and a room with a power outlet, we can run a session there.

Do our employees have to pay at the counter?

No. We configure centralized billing so the DOJ and FBI fees and the rolling fee are invoiced to your organization on net-30 terms. Applicants arrive with photo ID and get printed.

How do we prove the group was cleared for an audit?

You receive a completion record listing every applicant, the date, the service performed, and the ATI number for each submission. Results themselves go directly from the DOJ and FBI to the requesting agency — we never receive or store them.

Do you travel further north than Fremont?

As far as Hayward. Our mobile corridor covers Fremont, Newark, Union City, and Hayward in the East Bay, and stops there — we do not travel to Oakland, San Francisco, or Walnut Creek.
